From Hiroshima Station: 3 minutes on foot from either the Genpaku Dome-Mae Station or the Hondoori Station on the Hiroshima Dentetsu lines
Despite being the most famous tourist spot, there are things about the Peace Memorial Park that you will not learn from any guide book, only from a local guide. For example why the Dome was preserved despite pushes for its demolition, the thoughts and goals of the park designer, the hidden prayers behind the cenotaph and museum and much more.
The bomb was dropped on the city center of Hiroshima and vaporized everything in a 2.5 km radius. The buildings and trees that managed to survive are nowadays known as the remnants. They stand for and commemorate both the tragedy as well as new hope for restoration of Hiroshima post-war. There's a lot to see during this tour, but we will also explore much more than meets the naked eye - from the point of view of a Hiroshima native.
Since we will be riding electrically assisted e-bikes the tour can be enjoyed even if you might not be confident in your stamina.
Hiroshima came a long way from scorched earth to its present day form. Come and enjoy the scenery of the restored city, dotted with green parks and rivers.
Step away from the touristy spots and deeper into Hiroshima. Hear all about the destruction caused by the bomb as well the incredible efforts that went into the restoration of the city whilst enjoying the true Hiroshima scenery other tourists have no clue about. Take a look at the many remnants that survived the bombing as well as spots only your local guides know about.
