Sail around the Nishi Seto Expressway on a sea kayak in one day
Seto Inland Sea boasts over 800 small islands, with the Nishi Seto Expressway also known as the Shimanami Kaido connecting the shores of Honshu and Shikoku via several smaller islands. Board your sea kayak and embark on a journey of discovery as you enjoy the natural beauty of the countless islands of Seto.
Photos taken during the tour will be given to you as a present.
Standard course introduction
There are two courses available, the “Innoshima Course” departing from Mukaishima Island and the “Setoda Course” departing from Ikuchi Island. Appropriate course will be selected to best match the tide and sailing conditions. Explore beautiful nature and rich history, afterward enjoy a lunch on the beach or at a local restaurant. Or just kick back and relax on an empty beach! Make the best of your day!
▼”Innoshima Course” departing from Mukaishima Island
This course will take you from the Innoshima Grand Bridge to the mysterious Hosonosu to explore the hidden beauty of the smaller islands of Seto.The area is rich with fascinating historical sites, like the Innoshima Suigun Castle or the Jizobana stone monument.
▼”Setoda Course” departing from Ikuchi Island
This course offers an opportunity to sail under the Tatara Bridge that connects Hiroshima and Ehime prefectures across the sea. The area offers a lot to explore, like the uninhabited island of Hyotan or the statue of Bodhisattva Jizo floating above the sea.
Sea kayaking is the best way to experience the unique features of Shimanami Kaido in each and every season.
▼There are several lunch options available, whether you would prefer a hand made paella or pasta cooked on a deserted beach, or mingling with the locals over a lovely okonomiyaki at a quaint restaurant, the choice is yours.
