Via car: 30 minutes from Hiroshima, or 45 minutes from the Hiroshima Airport
Public transportation: 15 minutes by JR Kure Line to Yano Station and a further 15 minutes from there via the Hiroden Bus to Kumano Eigyosho bus stop.
Kumano Town is surrounded by famous tourist spots in all directions, including Hiroshima, Kure and Mihara. It can be reached within 60 minutes from any of these destinations, making it an excellent addition to your itinerary.

Various courses for you to enjoy at the brush factory!
There are six courses to select from, including the powder brush and cheek brush making experiences, two eye brush making experiences, a calligraphy course, and also picture painting course. In the powder brush handcrafting experience, you can choose from rose or round brushes, select from several different colors of bristles, and experience the most important process of making cosmetic brushes, called “frame setting”. For a bit of a lighter experience you could opt for the eye brush and cheek brush making experiences priced at 2750 and 1650 yen repsectively, where you can create your own brush by selecting one of the premade brush tops and combining it with one of the handles of various styles and colors. The picture painting experience is equally popular with the younger visitors as well as adults as it lets you try your hand at coloring postcards. Lastly, the calligraphy experience includes writing on half-sheets of paper and on colored paper, which can be taken home.
From calligraphy to cosmetics - the journey of our brushes
The world renowned brush brand of Kumano has its roots in calligraphy. At the Koyudo brush manufacture we will introduce you not just to the history of the brushes and what makes them unique, but also to its roots in calligraphy via original videos. You can even try your hand at calligraphy yourself, to fully comprehend what sets these brushes apart from others.
The makeup brush making experience is unique to Koyudo only!
Even though there are other factories and brush manufactures you can visit, only here you can actually handcraft your very own, unique brush. Using their deep understanding and knowledge of calligraphy brushes, Koyudo was able to create a very unique, original type of makeup brushes. The shop inside the factory offer over 500 various items including special outlet brushes at a highly discounted price. Only here you can find a brush that suits you like no other.
Safety first
As part of the prevention of spread of the novel Coronavirus the factory is equipped with an ultrasonic vaporizer and touchless system. Furthermore, entry is limited to a maximum of 20 people at any given time.
