Doguyasuji Shopping Street

Sennichimae Doguyasuji is a shopping street with over 130 years of history, specializing in tools. This commercial area lined with stores handling cookware, noren curtains, signs, etc. provided support for the artisans and culinary professionals that turned Osaka into Japan's renowned city of food. It was an indispensable place in that regard. In 1882, Doguyasuji was a road that provided passage from Hozenji Temple in Sennichimae to Shitennoji Temple and Imamiya Shrine. During the Taisho Era, wholesale stores and manufacturing shops took hold and by 1970, it became a full-fledged shopping arcade. Fostered from the long-standing experience of the various specialty shops, Doguyasuji created its own original brand, Tsunagu, to promote the area and remind people of the value and appeal of their cookware. In today's age of online shopping and volume sellers, attention has turned to new efforts. In addition to the various kitchenware, there's also a store where you can create your own Japanese food replicas and turn them into keychains.
