Kyocera Dome Osaka was opened in March of 1997 as a unique landmark of the western sector of Osaka City. It can be easily accessed by way of the Hanshin Line's Dome-mae Station and the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line's Dome-mae Chiyozaki Station. The dome can accomodate over 36,000 spectators, and in addition to functioning as the franchise baseball stadium for the Orix Buffaloes, is used for various events from concerts to sports and more. During the national high school baseball championship series, the Hanshin Tigers also use the facility in place of their usual home grounds in Koshien Stadium. It's also used to hold the opening ceremony and following 2 games for amateur baseball competitions like company or senior high school championship series. There is also a "Dome Tour" available to explore the inner areas of the building. It runs ¥1,000 for adults and ¥500 for children. You can check out places like the bullpen, where the pitcher practices, and the dugout benches.
