Along with the development of Senri New Town, the area also grew as a city of commerce and is home to the Hankyu Hanshin Toho Group as well as the Panasonic headquarters. Takatsuki is situated in between the cities of Osaka and Kyoto, serving primarily as a commuter town. Other cities in the area are also within commuting distance of Osaka, and characterized by being calm areas with lots of nature and temples.
