Opened in July 1997 as an interactive children's museum, Kids Plaza Osaka operates under the philosophy that children can learn, foster creativity, and grow their potential and individuality through new ways of playing and experiences. This facility is used as a part of extracurricular activities for kindergartens and nursery schools. They put effort into creating new educational programs for children and plans various events where the kids can learn while having fun. Kids Plaza Osaka is located on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors of Kantele Ogimachi Square, with each floor based on a different concept. Kids Town on the 4th and 5th floors, is known for being designed by the Austrian artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser. With numerous display items and workshops, adults can also partcipate, making this a place where parents and children can deepen their bond through enjoyable material. Kids Plaza Osaka is adjacent to Ogimachi Station, and nearby Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street, said to be the longest in Japan, and the lush, green Ogimachi Park, replete with exercise equipment.
