Orange Street is one of Osaka's main fashion areas, located just a quick walk away from Yotsubashi Station. The west side of the 800m street is lined with cafes, boutiques, and trendy shops selling miscellaneous goods and import furniture. The district where the sight of young people could be seen on days off, prospered with furniture and tool stores at the end of the Edo period. In the Meiji period, there were also a lot of secondhand stores. There are not only traditional buildings that have operated since before the war, but also places like Minatomachi River Place and OCAT, that are receiving attention as new cultural hotspots. In contrast to America Mura, there are lots of classier shops that adults can enjoy, like those carrying select brands and apparel. As the customer base for America Mura became younger, shops there that were targeted towards an older age group moved to Orange Street. Furthermore, Orange Street also has lots of trendy cafes and shops carrying unique items, so it is a great place for leisurely sightseeing in Osaka.
