Nakanoshima Rose Garden is located on the eastern side of Nakanoshima Park, which was first opened in 1891. The rose garden is made up of three areas, Bara-no-niwa, Bara-no-komichi, and Bara-no-hiroba. Every year, during the seasons of summer and fall, sightseers flock to see the roses in full bloom, with roughly 4,000 plants across 89 varieties. Nakanoshima Park is known as a city oasis, sandwiched between the Dojima and Tosahori rivers. It stretches about 1.5km lengthwise and has an area of 10.6 hectares. The surroundings include sturdy buildings like Osaka City Central Public Hall, Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library, and the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka which provide a beautiful, harmonious view alongside the rose garden. Additionally, running 400m from Yodoyabashi to Higobashi, Nakanoshima Ryokudo, has greenery like Japanese elms, camillias, and azaleas plus many sculptures along its path. Many residents use the road for relaxing walks. The rose garden is located within 5 minutes walking of both Yodoyabashi Station and Kitahama Station.
